Job Summary We are seeking an

Executive Chef

to lead culinary operations for Morrison Healthcare’s acute‑care facilities in Birmingham, AL. The Executive Chef will oversee kitchen operations, maintain a safe and sanitary environment, and ensure that meal preparation aligns with corporate programs and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

Plan regular and modified menus according to established guidelines.

Follow standardized recipes, portioning, and presentation standards, completing daily production worksheets and waste logs, and tasting finished meals for quality assurance.

Train kitchen staff in food preparation, safe handling, equipment operation, and sanitation based on company and regulatory standards.

Establish and maintain cleaning, maintenance, and inventory schedules, ensuring staff compliance.

Maintain inventory of food and non‑food supplies, staying within guidelines while ensuring product availability.

Make decisions regarding utilization of leftover food products within company guidelines.

Comply with federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations, evidenced by local and third‑party audits.

Follow facility, department, and company safety policies, including incident reporting.

Participate in departmental meetings, staff development, and professional programs as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

A.S. or equivalent experience.

Minimum of three to five years of progressive culinary/kitchen management experience.

Extensive catering experience (a plus).

High‑volume, complex food‑service operations experience (highly desirable).

Institutional and batch‑cooking experience.

Hands‑on chef experience (required).

Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, email, and the Internet.

ServSafe certification (highly desirable).
