Job Overview
USD Head Start is hiring a
Head Start Home Visitor
based in Tea, SD, who will travel to Lincoln and Turner counties to conduct weekly home visits for expectant women and children ages 0‑2. The role also includes assisting with Play and Learn Sessions at the Tea office and will receive a program vehicle for travel.
Responsibilities
Conduct weekly home visits for expectant mothers and toddlers (ages 0‑2).
Assist in the planning and facilitation of Play and Learn Sessions at the office site.
Provide individualized learning support and developmental screenings.
Offer nutritious meal guidance and health service referrals as needed.
Educate parents on child development and community resources.
Maintain accurate documentation and case files.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in social work, education, counseling, nursing, or a closely related field.
Experience working with young children and families.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to multiple counties.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
