PRIMARY PURPOSE:
As a Sous Chef-Assistant Restaurant Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing kitchen operations in an Asian-inspired Quick Serve Venue. Your duties include preparing and presenting high-quality dishes from various Asian cuisines (Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Korean, Vietnamese) to ensure authenticity, food quality, and consistency, while maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards. This role involves training and managing kitchen staff, assisting in menu development and production.

Gold Strike Casino - Tunica, MS Qualifications MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Two (2) years proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar leadership role within an Asian kitchen or high-volume restaurant production environment. Strong knowledge of Asian cooking techniques and ingredients. Language requirement: English, plus Cantonese, Mandarin, or Vietnamese. CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS: ServSafe Certification KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Excellent leadership and communication skills. Ability to engage with guests to build loyalty and trust. Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Ability to lead, train, and motivate a team. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts. Attention to detail and a passion for Asian cuisine. WORKING CONDITIONS: This role includes frequent standing and bending. Constant walking, reaching, balancing, and grasping items in a food preparation area. It also includes lifting, carrying, and pushing up to 50 lbs. *This is not intended to include every duty or responsibility of the job nor is it intended to be an all-inclusive list of the skills and abilities required to do this job. This position may require strenuous physical activities and exposure to pipe, cigar, and/or cigarette smoking. Responsibilities Lead the kitchen team in preparing high-quality dishes from Pan-East to South-East Asian cuisines. Assist with menu development, recipe creation, and production guidance. Maintain consistent food quality, presentation, and portioning. Oversee food preparation, inventory management, and kitchen sanitation, food safety compliance, and hygiene standards. Train, mentor, and supervise junior kitchen staff. Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards. Assist in ordering and managing kitchen supplies. Collaborate with front-of-house teams to ensure timely food delivery.
