Role Summary The

Human Resources Specialist

is an integral part of Buckeye Partners, L.P.’s Human Resources Team, providing support in day‑to‑day operations, including pre‑employment and onboarding, employee relations program administration, HR information system administration, and other duties required to deliver HR priorities.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and manage the pre‑employment process from initiation through new hire clearance, including background checks and medical‑physical examinations.

Manage the onboarding process through I‑9 completion, coordinate with IT and other departments, administer new hire documentation, and lead monthly onboarding training for hiring managers.

Communicate effectively with vendors, internal stakeholders, and candidates regarding pre‑employment and onboarding progress.

Maintain recruitment‑related documents in the ATS, electronic and manual repositories, ensuring accurate record‑keeping.

Support Human Resources projects such as early‑career programs, military recruitment events, and career branding initiatives; administer employee programs including the Referral Program, Scholarship, Matching Gifts, and Buck‑Ideas initiative.

Invoice and payment management for new HR and Talent vendors, ensuring timely setup, correct coding, and processing of vendor invoices and payroll administration for referrals and sign‑on bonuses.

Position Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred.

Associate or bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or a related field desired.

Minimum 2 years of experience in a fast‑paced HR environment.

Preferred experience with applicant tracking systems.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Travel: up to 10%.

Essential Functions

Perform job functions consistently with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, meeting qualitative and quantitative productivity standards.

Maintain regular, punctual attendance in accordance with ADA, FMLA, and other applicable standards.

Comply with all personnel policies.

Physical & Safety Requirements

Occasional movement within the office to access file cabinets and equipment.

Frequent effective communication with others.
