CEI Inspectors at all experience levels
to join our Service Line team across
South Carolina —including Columbia, Florence, Myrtle Beach, Greenville/Spartanburg, Charleston, Gaffney, Orangeburg, Hardeeville and nearby regions.
Your Day‑to‑Day
Oversee construction activities—grading, paving, bridge work, and traffic control—to ensure they meet project plans, specifications, and safety standards.
Evaluate erosion control measures, confirm environmental compliance, and perform material sampling and quality tests.
Prepare detailed daily inspection reports, monitor contractor progress, and maintain documentation needed for payment processing.
Complete calculations, track material quantities, and help keep project milestones on schedule.
Attend safety and progress meetings, working with contractors, engineers, and project stakeholders to resolve issues and sustain project momentum.
Conduct DBE/EEO compliance reviews to verify workforce diversity and equal opportunity requirements are being met.
Compensation Compensation is based on experience, with additional bonuses for holding relevant certifications.
What You Bring
A high school diploma/GED
Highway‑related construction or inspection experience, a plus
Technical degree or higher in Civil Engineering Technology or Surveying Technology, which will equate to 1 year of experience
One or more active SCDOT‑based certifications, a plus
Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing) using the English language
Good math skills with a basic understanding of weight, volume, pressure, and units of measure
Understanding of a fluctuating schedule and interest in occasional travel
Working Conditions and Physical Demands You are willing and able to perform the physical demands of this position with the use of company‑provided Personal Protective Equipment, such as:
Working outdoors the majority of the time in varying weather conditions
Walking over rough, uneven terrain and standing for potentially long periods
Routinely lifting and carrying 40–50lbs (field/laboratory samples and equipment)
Working outside of normal business hours when necessary
