We’re partnering with a well-respected regional firm to find a
Senior Tax Advisor
who knows the ins and outs of agricultural and closely-held business taxation. This role blends hands‑on compliance work with forward-looking strategy — helping clients make informed decisions that impact their operations, legacies, and long-term goals.
What You’ll Do
Prepare and review returns for C Corps, S Corps, Partnerships, and Trusts—with an emphasis on agriculture and family‑owned businesses
Coordinate owner and entity‑level returns to ensure accuracy and alignment
Develop and implement
proactive tax strategies
including entity structuring, succession planning, and timing strategies for income and capital purchases
Advise on complex agricultural issues (Section 199A, depreciation, conservation expenses, cooperative dividends, etc.)
Partner with internal teams and outside advisors (bankers, wealth planners, attorneys) to deliver holistic client solutions
Research evolving federal and state tax laws, particularly those affecting Midwest ag operations
Mentor junior staff and support collaborative team development
What They’re Looking For
CPA or EA designation required
5+ years of experience in tax preparation and planning
Deep understanding of agricultural and business entity taxation
Experience advising family‑owned and multi‑generational clients
Strong research, analytical, and communication skills
