Equity Analyst – Healthcare
Location: 7 Bryant Park, New York, NY. This role is based in the heart of NYC and offers flexible working arrangements to support a culture of innovation, collaboration, knowledge sharing and relationship building across the business. About the Team
The US Small and Mid Cap Team consists of six senior investment analysts covering three strategy tiers – Small, SMID and Mid Cap – managing approximately $6.5 B with capacity to run over $20 B. The investment philosophy prioritises quality‑driven fundamentals, a valuation discipline focused on downside risk, and a three‑alpha strategy of mispriced growth, steady eddies, and turnarounds. Key Responsibilities
Lead bottom‑up fundamental research and produce original investment ideas for the portfolio. Collaborate with the Portfolio Manager and Head of Research to identify high‑quality opportunities within the Healthcare sector. Assess investment recommendations against sector benchmarks (Russell Small, SMID and Mid Cap) and present trade ideas and investment packs, discussing weighting and rationale with senior leadership. Participate in all stages of the investment process – sourcing, analysing, recommending and committing capital. Required Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications
Strong foundation in fundamental analysis, financial modelling, and clinical/biotech sector dynamics. Minimum 5 years of healthcare coverage experience, with at least 10 years in the financial industry overall. Deep knowledge of healthcare sub‑segments and the drivers of outperformance across market cycles. Desired Skills & Attributes
Team‑player who thrives in a debate‑heavy environment and can defend or refute recommendations. Excellent written and verbal communication and advocacy skills. Compensation
Base salary range: $150,000 – $230,000. Actual pay may vary based on location, experience, market conditions, education and skill level. Why Schroders?
