Overview Lutron Electronics is the leading manufacturer of lighting controls worldwide. We are building a world‑class legal team to support Lutron as we continue to grow the company domestically and internationally.
Lutron's Business Law team supports virtually every function across Lutron, from engineering, purchasing, sales, and marketing to customer support and beyond, and has an immediate paralegal opening for a Contracts Specialist. In this position, you would be a key part of the Business Law team and would make an immediate contribution.
Responsibilities
Manage contract intake, prioritization and review for the team, including:
Interacting with Lutron business professionals to understand and clarify their requests for support
Performing initial contract reviews to identify need for internal escalation and approvals
Effectively allocating matters to team members based on subject matter, capacity and sensitivity
Prepare, review and negotiate routine contracts independently following established parameters and escalation guidelines.
Effectively and diplomatically engage with Lutron stakeholders and advocate for Lutron's interests throughout the contracting process.
Organize and manage contracts through the contract lifecycle, supporting the record keeping and filing procedures for all contracts.
Support the ongoing improvement of our contract templates, playbooks and processes for overall increased efficiency; provide guidance to clients regarding Lutron processes and best practices.
Become a subject matter expert for our document management system and other relevant software tools.
Collaborate with legal and non‑legal colleagues on various projects and tasks as needed:
Support multiple concurrent projects from initiation through completion
Develop and maintain project timelines, milestones, and status reports
Identify process improvements and implement efficient workflows
Coordinate cross‑departmental collaboration on complex matters
Stay aligned to Lutron's culture and values while being flexible and adaptable.
Be curious and open to innovation.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of paralegal experience, supporting a transactional practice area - preferably in an in‑house role.
Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Teams is required; SharePoint experience a significant plus.
Willingness and ability to quickly learn any other applications relevant to the role, including the latest legal technology.
Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a rapidly evolving environment.
Customer focus, with strong communication/interpersonal skills and the ability to work and navigate within a complex, matrix organization.
Understanding and demonstrated sensitivity to matters involving confidentiality and attorney‑client privilege.
