Direct Sales Agent Specialist (1503) – Direct Auto
National General is part of The Allstate Corporation, offering a broad range of insurance products through a network of independent agents and direct-to-consumer channels. As a Direct Sales Agent Specialist for Direct Auto Insurance, you will drive profitable growth by acquiring new customers and expanding existing accounts, building rapport and trust to retain and grow your book of business within the market and retail location.
Responsibilities include selling to walk‑in customers, conducting marketing calls and in‑person visits, and fostering community relationships to promote continued growth. You will also cross‑sell existing products such as Auto, Life, Auto Club, and Roadside Assistance, and support the overall product portfolio.
Minimum Qualifications
0–2 years of experience
P&C licensing preferred or required to obtain licensure within 90 days of hire
Preferred Skills and Competencies
Successful close of insurance and ancillary product sales
Consistently meets and exceeds sales goals through new product sales and cross‑sell/retention activities
Builds a sales pipeline by engaging community contacts and maintaining an active presence in local events, dealerships, and organizations
Initiates outbound calls to a targeted customer base for product offerings
Monitors local competitors and recommends initiatives to improve market position
Collaborates with Direct Sales Leadership to plan, implement, and manage marketing and sales processes
Delivers results within key metrics (quality, quantity, timeliness, productivity, customer satisfaction, financial performance) and complies with all procedures and standards
Stays current on underwriting guidelines and policy changes
Handles customer payments, issues receipts, and verifies cash drawer records
Compensation Unlicensed Candidates
Base compensation: $17.50 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)
Licensed Candidates (Auto or P&C)
Base compensation: $20.00 per hour (based on active license and minimum 6 months of P&C sales experience)
Total Compensation:
In addition to the base hourly rate, total compensation may include incentive pay such as commissions and bonuses based on individual and team performance.
