PIXCEL (https://www.pixcel.com) develops novel semiconductor-based photonic modules aimed at sensing and imaging applications.

What you'll do:

Responsible for the full product lifecycle, from initial concept to production, for the mechanical design of PIXCEL’s silicon-photonics modules.

Lead mechanical design for various silicon photonics modules with an emphasis on high-volume, low-cost manufacturing.

Develop assembly and alignment processes.

Design and implement prototype and production assembly and test fixtures.

Lead mechanical validation and testing activities.

Who you'll work with:

Part of a multi-disciplinary start-up team, including optical, electrical, mechanical, and software engineers, working closely with PIXCEL’s silicon photonics development leads.

Collaborate with customers on tailoring products to specific applications.

Interact with vendors and manufacturing partners.

Who you are: You have extensive mechanical design experience in product development environments. You have experience with hand‑held instruments, camera modules, or similar products. You have knowledge of optical alignment and optical systems. Your experience includes both product and tooling/fixturing design. You are excited about working in a start‑up environment and having the opportunity to help build a great company. You are detail‑oriented and enjoy digging into difficult technical problems. You can work independently, but you value a friendly, team‑oriented, collaborative work environment. You appreciate learning from your colleagues and letting them learn from you. Your great interpersonal and communication skills allow effortless collaboration both inside and outside the organization.

Minimum requirements:

B.S. with 8+ years or M.S. with 5+ years industry experience.

Successful commercial product development experience.

Some background with optics and optical systems.

Some knowledge of electronics packaging.

Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.

$210,000 - $260,000 a year.
