Executive Sous Chef
Location: Wilmington, NC
Position: Full‑time, Mid‑Senior level in the Food & Beverage Department.
Salary: $26.90–$49.90 per hour.
Annual range approximately $85,000–$95,000.
Reports to: Food and Beverage Director.
Job Summary The Executive Sous Chef will help lead our dynamic kitchen team, ensuring high‑quality culinary operations, compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and efficient cost management.
Responsibilities
Assist in planning and executing all functions of the food and beverage department.
Ensure compliance with policies, local, state, and federal laws, and health and safety regulations.
Manage labor, food, beverage, and equipment costs to stay within budget.
Maintain cleanliness, safety, and proper staffing of the kitchen.
Oversee inventory and conduct monthly inventories.
Hire, train, schedule, evaluate, and coach kitchen staff.
Collaborate with front‑of‑house management to align service levels.
Develop and implement menus, recipes, and culinary techniques.
Engage with guests and clients to assess satisfaction and address concerns.
Continuously improve systems to manage food and labor costs.
Requirements
Impeccable attendance and reliability.
Strong time‑management and prioritization skills.
In‑depth knowledge of restaurant operations, including banquet service.
English communication skills, both oral and written.
Ability to create a positive, collaborative work environment.
Resilience under pressure and ability to perform in stressful situations.
Food Handler certification.
Minimum 3 years of food and beverage experience.
Physical & Travel Requirements Physically demanding: standing, sitting, walking, bending, lifting, and squatting for extended periods.
Little to no travel outside the property and surrounding area.
