We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support our team:
Essential Functions
Contribute to the overall machine concept and layout
Engineer and lead system and subassembly design
Analyzes specifications and performance requirements to develop and lead cost-effective designs
Provides technical advice as well as assists in debugging designs and machinery
Determines the feasibility of applying new or modified designs to equipment or products, considering costs, time limitations, company planning, and other technical factors
Prepares or directs the preparation of product or system layouts, detailed drawings, and schematics
Checks designs and details for technical accuracy and recommends revisions or concept expansion for problem resolutions
Provides technical support for manufacturing and assembly
Develops test plans and experimental programs. Analyzes test data and reports to determine if the design meets functional and performance specifications
Confers with Validation, Run-off, and other engineering personnel. Prepares design modifications as required
Liaison with customers or vendors as required, exchanging information on product or system capability
Has an understanding of estimating time on tasks, setting priorities, planning short-term and long-term goals, project monitoring, and time management
Has sufficient familiarity with Reliability and Maintainability principles, tools, and techniques to appropriately design into new or modified products
Capable of giving technical direction to accomplish desired project objectives, typically to Designers, Detailers, or Design Engineers, and technical support to the shop in the building, manufacturing, or testing of the product.
Knowledge and understanding of the use computer assisted design equipment. Creo, Windchill, and Mathcad are a plus.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, and test reports.
Ability to communicate, in writing, facts and information clearly, accurately and with significance. Typical written communications include department reports, engineer meeting notes, design reviews, memos, trip reports, and recommendations of procedures and methods. Ability to effectively present information to top management in both verbal and written form
Mathematical knowledge and application to mechanical, hydraulic, electromechanical, and electrical equipment design. Must be capable of performing strength of materials, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, power transmission, and simple hydraulic computations
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Education/Experience
7-10 years relevant experience in capital equipment, heavy machinery design, or manufacturing.
