For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $140,000 - $208,000 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive.

Senior Power Systems Architect
based out of our
Raleigh, NC
location.
Within the
Global Competency Center in Electrical Systems
team, this position is created to enhance our knowledge in advanced systems and electrical distribution. The candidate will interact with multiple teams in different Business units and expertise teams with high level of expertise and knowledge in power systems and electrical distribution design. He or she will lead and drive the innovation and technical work package within the organization regarding the new energy landscape and new challenges in electrical distribution from protection to control, safety and standards.
What will you do? You will work on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. You drive and manage the studies and investigations within the streams and projects with a global mandate.
The position requires a certain autonomy with a leading spirit to work in anticipation topics where the critical thinking is a key success factor. These soft skills are important in addition to the required expertise in one or multiple electrical fields:
ED (electrical distribution) equipment behavior modelling
Protection algorithms
Microgrids, Advanced Distribution management System
Smart grid, REN integration, Distribution Network Planning
Power System Optimization, Transient analysis
Switching overvoltages, Insulation Coordination, Transient Recovery Voltage
Skills Any application knowledge is an added value and an experience in conversion could be appreciated. Direct current knowledge is required due to integration of PV and batteries in DERs.
The candidate should master one or two tools of simulation and would be willing to implement in Mathworks environment the studies regarding different architectures. Using these models, he or she will enable the stakeholders to target the optimized architecture according to fixed KPIs.
The candidate should help to maintain and evolve the library of power systems model within the team and will lead the work on his / her scope.
