Full-Time Mechanical Design/Mfg Engineer I
Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making design decisions and/or modifications. Provide manufacturing engineering support to operations. ESSENTIAL/PRIMARY DUTIES: Analyze and design complex parts and assemblies to applicable standards. Provide technical data and assist in the decision‑making process that impacts compliance with design specifications. Assist in design, analysis of design, testing of design, and qualification of the design for production and sale to the public. Participate on project teams. Create documents related to the design engineering function (i.e., layout drawings, detail drawings, assembly drawings, Bills of Materials, Engineering Change Orders, and design records). Create documentation required to ensure the product can be produced as designed. Identify and develop processes for engineering efficiencies (Change Order process, Special process, etc.). Provide sales support by analyzing architectural layouts for special products. Design, develop, and cost the special product. SECONDARY DUTIES: Develop and improve mechanical design processes for better efficiency. Identify improvement opportunities and lead the implementation of process improvements to reduce cost, improve changeover, increase quality, and repeatability. Design tools and fixturing to improve the workpiece holding capability for assembly and machining processes. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering is preferred. 2+ years of experience in a design engineering role, or equivalent combination of education and experience. COMPETENCY/SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience with 2D design software, AutoCAD preferred Ability to perform 3D Modeling Ability to read Bills of Materials Ability to multitask and problem solve Ability to analyze and interpret data Ability to prepare Test protocols and Test Reports Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and PLM systems Knowledge of FDA and ISO regulations Location:
