Insurance Office of America is seeking a Senior Account Manager – Commercial Lines for a fully remote opportunity.

Senior Account Manager – Commercial Lines
Location:
Fully Remote (EST & CST only). Supporting: Columbia, SC.
Book Focus:
General, Contractors.
Requirements:
Active P&C license and minimum 5+ years experience as a Commercial Lines Account Manager.
Preferred:
CISR, CIC, CRIS, or CPCU designations, 7-10+ years experience in the field.
Remote Work Policy Note:
Individuals residing within 50‑mile radius of a branch may be required to work onsite in a hybrid capacity as needed. Remote workspace must be dedicated, distraction‑free. Visit ioausa.com/locations for branch locations.
About the Role:
Manage an assigned book, ensuring account retention, supporting new business. Coordinate day‑to‑day administrative and customer service activities, resolve complex issues, and ensure no errors or omissions. Serve as subject‑matter expert for the account management team.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain a high degree of technical competence and industry expertise.
Direct daily activities and workflow of the account management team.
Handle customer service requests, policy administration, billing, claims, and coverage analysis.
Manage policy expirations and renewals.
Conduct client research, prepare submissions, negotiate coverages, and present proposals.
Monitor accounts receivable reports and take action on delinquent accounts.
Maintain agency management systems and carrier/vendor platforms, ensuring data accuracy.
Monitor activity/suspense to ensure timely completion.
Maintain frequent, transparent communication with the account team.
Deliver excellent service, proactively anticipate needs, and respond quickly.
Stay updated on company policies and procedures.
Seek and adopt best practices to improve performance.
Demonstrate integrity and leadership to champion IOA values.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
5+ years of account management experience, or 7+ years in the insurance industry.
Thorough knowledge of insurance brokerage and client needs.
Required active property & casualty licensing; professional designation preferred.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
Exceptional customer service, communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
High School Diploma (or equivalent).
