Shipping and Receiving Specialist
Coordinates the movement of customer materials from suppliers through the Service Center Network.
Summary This position coordinates the movement of customer materials from suppliers through our Service Center Network. The role manages all service requirements, develops key performance measures, and maintains excellent customer service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinates, schedules, and dispatches local pickups and deliveries.
Develops, tracks, and reports key performance measures.
Communicates inter‑company and intra‑company information.
Coordinates trailer loads and performs dock checks.
Identifies and pursues innovative logistics approaches and makes recommendations based on analysis.
Provides exceptional customer service to multiple customers with process analysis.
Uses computer techniques for analysis, simulation and documentation.
Implements continual improvement initiatives to enhance performance.
Supervisory Responsibilities May require supervision of loading activities, varying by center.
Qualifications
Associate Degree from a two‑year college preferred (not required) or 1–2 years related experience.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret business materials and write reports and correspondence.
Ability to calculate basic math and apply algebra and geometry concepts.
Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions.
Knowledge of database, internet, inventory, order processing, spreadsheet and word processing software.
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Physical Demands Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to type, reach and lift up to 50 pounds. Requires close vision and hearing.
Work Environment Moderate noise level in typical warehouse setting. Reasonable accommodations available.
