Our Tier 1 Automotive is seeking a detail-driven, people-focused HR Specialist to join their dynamic HR team.
Position: HR Specialist
Industry: Tier 1 Automotive Manufacturing
Job Purpose Support a thriving manufacturing workforce by maintaining accurate employee records, ensuring seamless HR processes, and serving as a trusted resource for employees and managers. You will play a vital role in onboarding, compliance, documentation, and communication within the HR function.
Qualifications Education & Experience
Associate degree in HR Management or Business with HR electives required
2–3 years of HR or related experience
Bachelor’s degree in HR or Business preferred
Knowledge
HR best practices: recruitment, selection, training, compensation, benefits, labor relations
Understanding of key employment laws: FMLA, ADA, ADEA, Title VII, FLSA, etc.
Skills & Abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
Experience with HRIS systems (ADP, Plex, or similar)
Strong written and verbal communication
Ability to build positive relationships and guide employees through HR-related issues
Responsibilities
Process and maintain all personnel documentation, including onboarding, training, evaluations, leaves of absence, and employee changes
Assist managers on policy matters, compliance, and employee relations
Explain company policies, benefits, and HR procedures to employees and applicants
Maintain and update employee data including reviews, disciplinary actions, transfers, promotions, and separations
Provide information from employee records to authorized personnel
Respond to inquiries regarding benefits, eligibility, examinations, and related HR topics
Compile HR reports and documentation
Conduct reference checks and request information to determine candidate suitability
Review and evaluate applications for qualifications and eligibility
Coordinate job postings and communication of openings to internal and external candidates
Maintain benefits files and documentation
