Responsibilities
Assist with performing safety audits for all divisions and all products.
Risk identification and management, incident reporting and investigation.
Conduct inspections and assessments.
Record keeping and other general administrative duties.
Observe and comply with all safety, environmental and project rules.
Perform accident and incident investigations and reporting as directed.
Assist in documentation collection for driver qualification files.
Assist in training functions.
Provide input to management.
Ensure that federal, state, company, and site-specific policies and procedures are enforced.
Identify and suggest resolution of problems in a timely manner.
Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
Perform monthly and quarterly inspections on tools and safety equipment.
Communicate effectively in front of large groups.
Positively influence change and operational discipline around all HSE-related matters.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Must have a minimum of 15 years of electric utility experience (specifically for Transmission or substation if hiring).
3+ years’ experience in a Safety position in the T&D industry preferred or relevant mix of school and HSE field experience in associated construction industry.
Basic computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Effective oral and written communication skills.
OSHA 10 & 30 compliance. Strong knowledge of applicable OSHA standards.
Extensive travel required.
Post-offer drug/alcohol screening and physical evaluation.
Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others in the workplace.
Job site safety requirements as required by the client (e.g., long sleeves, steel/safety toe boots, etc.).
Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.).
Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
OSHA 510 & OSHA 500 certifications.
Risk management degree or safety professional certification preferred.
Instructor Trainer Certifications.
