Wycliffe Associates is working on Bible translation projects for deaf and blind individuals worldwide, using SUN (Symbolic Universal Notation), a symbol-based writing system that provides immediate access to Scripture for the deaf and deaf-blind. We seek native or bilingual speakers of Chichewa (Malawi) who can translate an English training manual into Chichewa. The manual is 26 pages long, and the work involves translating spreadsheets and documents via email. Basic computer skills and fluency in English and Chichewa are required. This remote volunteer position entails approximately 10-12 hours per week, with the possibility of serving until project completion, which may take a few months. Responsibilities include translating training materials to aid teachers serving deaf and blind communities in Malawi, helping to bring the Gospel to those who cannot hear or see.
