Responsibilities

Plan and organize recreational activities.

Coach all athletic teams.

Organize and oversee all competitions and tournaments.

Show detainees the proper way to safely use recreational equipment.

Inspect recreation area for cleanliness and safety.

Provide weekly safety training to recreation orderlies and clerks.

Check all detainees in and out of the gym.

Maintain recreation department records.

Maintain and schedule the repair of recreation equipment.

Qualifications If you are a quality team player and truly love to see people succeed, then you are in the right place. This position requires only a high school diploma. However, a degree in Physical Education, Recreational Therapy, or any field related to that is highly desirable. Experience working with prisoner populations or in a physical education program is also an asset.

Minimum Requirements

High school diploma required. Additional education in Physical Education, recreational therapy, or related field highly desirable.

Prior experience working with an inmate population or in a physical education program is highly desirable.

Must possess a valid driver's license.
