is seeking an

Education Specialist

to manage Head Start education services within the center. This role reports to the Center Support Specialist and Education Manager and focuses on ensuring a culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate learning environment that supports each child's physical, emotional, social, and cognitive growth.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee all educational services in the center following the Head Start Act, Performance Standards, and the CDLF School Readiness Plan.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of early childhood education practices, assessments, and screening tools.

Design and implement in-service training for teachers, assistants, and aides; provide ongoing coaching and technical support.

Assist with credentialing compliance for education personnel in partnership with HR.

Develop, review, and update staff development plans; conduct quarterly and annual performance evaluations.

Review lesson plans weekly to ensure developmental appropriateness, individualization, and alignment with the readiness plan.

Cooperate with developmental specialists to screen all children, document results, and enforce follow‑up protocols.

Analyze assessment data from four seasonal measures; present findings at parent meetings.

Integrate individualized goals from IEP/IFSP/RTI/Behavior Plans into classroom instruction.

Maintain accurate paper and electronic files for each child; attend case reviews as required.

Participate in coordinating child transitions with the center team.

Ensure completion of the Health and Safety checklist each day.

Manage classroom and educational resource inventories.

Facilitate communication between teaching and support staff, including teacher meetings and agency conferences.

Coordinate home visits and parent/teacher conferences to meet Head Start performance standards.

Submit monthly education reports or as directed.

Assume Center Support Specialist duties in their absence.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.

Experience or emphasis in special education, social work, or psychology.

Minimum three years of leadership or group facilitation experience.

Proficiency in both English and Spanish is preferred.

Physical ability to sit or stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and care for children and infants.
