PetSmart’s Pet Stylist (Dog Groomer) engages with pet parents and their pets, provides positive experiences and best-in-class salon services, and upholds the company’s vision, mission, values, and strategy. The role shares responsibility for cleanliness and pet health and safety standards. Principal Responsibilities
Independently performs full menu of bath, brush and grooming services and standalone services (nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services) per PetSmart bathing standards and procedures. Recommends additional health and wellness solutions with pet parents based on the pet’s needs. Manages pet parent experience and outcomes in person, over the phone, and at the sales register. Greets pet parents, answers questions, assists with making salon reservations. Conducts appointment reminder calls, maintains client records, and consults with pet parents on services offered. Performs check-in/check-out procedures for grooming appointments, including paperwork and rebooking. Promotes salon sales to help achieve sales targets and productivity metrics. Recommends, informs, and sells merchandise and services. Maintains high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and humane conditions for all pets in the grooming area; performs end-of-day cleaning per maintenance checklist. Takes immediate action if a pet is sick or injured and facilitates transport to a veterinarian as needed. Assists in other departments as required; performs other duties as assigned. Supports a culture of Belonging and Recognition; follows Company Policies and Procedures. Qualifications
Prior grooming experience; or 6 months experience as Stylist in Training with successful completion of PetSmart’s Salon Academy training and safety certification, or passes the salon technical evaluation. Proficiency in computer applications. Ability to stay composed under pressure; flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and safety measures. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Physical Demands and Work Environment
Stand, walk, climb a ladder; use hands to handle, feel, hold, write; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch; depth perception; reasonable accommodations available. Lift/move up to 50 pounds; occasionally team lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Exposure to moving parts, wet environment with pet hair; moderate noise, potential exposure to live animals.
