$20.78-$32.27 (DOE/DOQ) Benefits

Full Medical, Dental and Vision benefits after 60 days employment (30 days for active Licensed or Certified Healthcare Professionals). HL7N pays 100% of the insurance premium for full-time employees (30+ hours). HL7N pays 100% of the employee out-of-pocket expenses for medical, dental, and/or vision using the Navia Card. $75,000 Life Insurance, Short and Long-Term Disability after 90 days. HL7N pays 100% of the Life Insurance premium for full-time employees (30+ hours). Annually, employees receive 12 paid holidays; 20 PTO days per year after the employee has been employed FTE (30+ hours) and achieves a successful 90-day performance evaluation rating. 403(b) Thrift Savings Plan with HL7N maximum pension contribution of 4% after 12 months of employment (2,080 hrs.) and successful performance evaluation rating. Healing Lodge employment may qualify for the federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program as well as loan repayment through HRSA. About the Company
The Healing Lodge of the Seven Nations is a growing and developing comprehensive behavioral health organization encompassing a 45-bed capacity youth (13 to 17 years of age) residential treatment facility and outpatient clinical care. The Healing Lodge treatment program integrates traditional, spiritual and cultural values with substance use disorder and mental health counseling to create a holistic approach toward healing. Our services are open to both Native Americans and non-Native from all areas of the country. Role Summary:
The Behavioral Intervention Specialist provides 24/7 resident-centered care by facilitating, participating, and monitoring the residents with co-occurring disorders. Duties and Responsibilities
Effectively redirect behaviors involving risk of physical harm to self or others or the destruction of property. Complete daily written reports within the Electronic Health Records (EHR) system for each client, documenting client successes and concerning behaviors. Provide ongoing assessments of progress. Create general strategies for behavior assessment. Facilitate conflict resolution and crisis intervention. Avoid coercive interventions by inviting de-escalation and minimizing escalation around significant behaviors. Model direct and clear communications with peers, clients and supervisors encompassing cultural awareness and respect for differences. Establish a helping relationship with the person receiving services by demonstrating empathy, respect and genuineness to build trust. Act in a professional and ethical manner presenting a professional image in appearance, communications and demeanor. Adhere to agency scheduling policy, follow program activity schedules; commit to personal professional development; recognize the importance of self-care. Assist in gathering information about basic and community living to be used in assessment, implement designation interventions and behavioral management programs. Communicate with supervisor and established chain of command regarding daily operations and incidents; document all required information clearly, legibly, timely, concisely, and accurately. Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to assess client behaviors and create a specially designed treatment plan and implement it. Demonstrate positive engagement with residents reinforcing proactive behaviors. Participate in effective leadership approaches and training to enhance job skills; mentor new staff; provide positive leadership and remain calm under pressure. Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution. Minimum of one year's relevant work experience and/or training working with adolescents and teenagers, demonstrating the ability to fulfill duties. Successful completion of the Residential Child and Youth Care Professional (RCYCP) training preferred (may be obtained through on-the-job training at the Healing Lodge at no cost to the employee). Knowledge in Native American culture/spiritual traditions and practices preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Flexibility with frequent interruptions. Knowledge of a wide range of high-risk adolescents with substance use disorders. Ability to adapt to a wide range of physical, emotional, social, and/or spiritual well-being. Ability to de-escalate youth in crisis and use motivational interviewing techniques. Empathy with distraught residents. Maintain flexibility with shift tasks and priorities. Strong concentration and attention to detail. Maintain a positive and supportive professional work attitude toward the agency and personnel; submit concerns or constructive suggestions to the direct supervisor. Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
Must be at least 21 years old. Must become CPR and First Aid certified. Possess a Washington State driver's license free of driving restrictions. Must be able to read and write proficiently in English for documentation and daily reports. Healing Lodge Indian Preference Hiring Statement The Healing Lodge of the Seven Nations shall give preference in employment for all work performed to enrolled members of federally recognized Tribes. If the Healing Lodge is unable to fill its employment opening with qualified Indian applicants, those employment openings may then be filled by other qualified applicants.
