Account Executive – Building Automation Systems (BAS/BMS) Overview We are seeking an experienced

Account Executive specializing in Building Automation Systems (BAS/BMS)

to join a high-performing controls and automation team. This role focuses on developing strong client relationships, identifying opportunities for system integration, and delivering customized smart-building solutions that enhance HVAC performance, energy efficiency, and overall operational intelligence.

The ideal candidate combines consultative sales skills with technical understanding of HVAC controls and automation technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and manage new and existing B2B client relationships across commercial, industrial, institutional, healthcare, and education sectors.

Identify opportunities to integrate BAS/BMS with HVAC and mechanical systems.

Conduct site assessments, client consultations, and technical discussions to evaluate needs and propose value-driven solutions.

Prepare proposals, quotes, and RFP responses in collaboration with engineering and operations teams.

Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and qualification through negotiation and closing.

Partner with internal engineers and project teams to ensure solution accuracy, proper pricing, and customer satisfaction.

Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasts, and activity reports.

Stay current on emerging technologies, smart-building trends, and energy-efficiency innovations.

Represent the organization at trade shows, industry events, and networking functions.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field (preferred, not required).

3–7 years of experience in B2B sales within Building Automation, HVAC Controls, or Energy Management.

Strong understanding of HVAC systems, DDC controls, BAS/BMS integration, and IoT technologies.

Proven track record of success in technical or solution-based sales.

Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.

Ability to engage and consult at the executive level.

Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office.

Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within assigned territory.

Technical aptitude with ability to translate complex systems into clear client solutions
