Immunology Thought Leader Liaison – New York, NY
AbbVie is seeking an experienced Immunology Thought Leader Liaison (TLL) for its New York, NY office. The TLL will act as the primary point of contact for AbbVie marketing teams within the region, engaging with external experts and driving regional commercial marketing plans in alignment with company strategy.

Job Description The Immunology TLL is a key member of the brand strategic marketing team, responsible for gathering on‑label insight aligned to AbbVie’s strategic plans for the immunology therapeutic area. The TLL partners with franchise marketing leads and field leaders to develop regional commercial marketing plans and ensure consistency with national strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Thought Leader Engagement and Development Interact with national, regional, and local external experts, emerging leaders, and relevant patient & professional associations to identify collaboration and sponsorship opportunities aligned to marketing strategies.
Develop regional engagement plans in alignment with brand strategic plans, ensuring consistent tactical execution across the year to drive key marketing engagement.
Peer-to-Peer Support Identify and recruit faculty for national series roll‑out and speaker training.
Consult with HCPs on peer‑to‑peer content development.
Provide training on HCP‑led slide deck content, updates, and how content aligns to brand strategy.
Identify key KOLs for national and regional conference product theaters.
Uncover regional speaker program opportunities based on local market dynamics, providing guidance on speaker selection and content to align speaker to local audience.
Marketing Initiatives Lead projects through the promotional review process, ensuring regulatory guidelines and AbbVie policies are followed.
Provide in‑depth insights to the Integrated Brand Team and commercial senior leadership based on brand key business questions to inform marketing strategy and tactic development.
Act as marketing lead for field competitive insights in the assigned region.
Understand objectives and key business insights for advisory meetings, identify and recruit appropriate HCP targets, and attend or assist in ad board facilitation.
Coordinate external vendors and internal departments (Agency Partners, Marketing, Market Research, Legal, Regulatory, Medical Affairs, Office of Ethics & Compliance, Consumer Marketing, IT).
Marketing Leader in Key Accounts Demonstrate in‑depth understanding of external and internal drivers within the account.
Lead marketing for key accounts and institutions, connecting AbbVie’s Integrated Brand Teams to potential collaboration opportunities.
Align and prioritize account initiatives for IBT.
Scope and Key Skills Effective written and oral communication with external experts, confidently representing AbbVie’s interests.
Translate market trends, insights, and competitive practices to identify business opportunities and develop strategic plans.
Maintain knowledge of industry information sources and use data sources to evaluate promotional effectiveness.
Strong collaboration and team orientation, influencing without authority.
Track and manage marketing budget, conventions, advisory board meetings, speaker programs, and activities within assigned budget.
Consistently adhere to regulatory guidelines and relevant pharmaceutical regulations.
Understand attributes of AbbVie internal functional areas and impact of relevant decisions.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required.
Previous experience in sales, sales management, or marketing with at least 2 years of experience in Immunology (preferred).
Travel up to 60% of the time, including some weekends.
Collaborative working style; ability to work across integrated teams.
Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a pre‑employment drug screening test and meet safe driving requirements.
