Mortgage Field Services Inspector – FAR INSPECTIONS
FAR Inspections is seeking highly motivated contractors to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders in Reno, NV. This independent contractor role offers predictable full‑time or supplemental income and a flexible schedule.
Overview Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties. Independent contractors conduct property inspections to verify occupancy, assess general conditions via a mobile application, and optionally take interior photos after a property has gone vacant.
Responsibilities
Complete inspections in your county; may split county with another inspector based on volume.
Inspect most sites in 5-6 minutes; report general property conditions and occupancy status.
Take 9+ photos with brief comments and complete a short form in an app.
Adhere to a 4‑day deadline after assignment.
Drive extensive periods, making numerous stops during the day in the assigned territory.
Requirements
Computer with reliable internet.
Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage preferred, as you pay your own gas).
Smartphone (Android or iPhone). Printer.
Pass a standard background check with a valid driver’s license.
Pay and Hours This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate varying by county and volume. You can earn an equivalent of $30‑$40 per hour, completing anywhere from 20 to 500 inspections per month, depending on county type and volume. There is no set inspection quota, but work is consistent month‑to‑month. No mileage reimbursement beyond the flat fee per inspection.
