FAR INSPECTIONS
FAR Inspections is seeking a
Mortgage Field Services Inspector
to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders in Reno, NV.
Independent contractors will earn predictable full‑time or supplemental income with a flexible schedule. Experience with mortgage field inspections is not required; candidates must manage time effectively and meet deadlines.

Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties via independent contractors. The purpose of the property inspection is to verify property occupancy and report general condition using a mobile application.
Most inspections are exterior only; about 10% require interior photos after the property has gone vacant.
We contract inspectors at the county level. Inspectors complete all inspections in their county, sometimes sharing a county with another inspector if volume permits.
Responsibilities
Most common inspections take 5-6 minutes.
Complete the inspection within 4 days after assignment.
Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards.
Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
Complete a short form in an app.
Spend extended periods driving while making numerous stops during the day in the assigned territory.
Requirements
Computer with internet connection
Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage a plus; you will pay your own gas)
Smartphone (Android or iPhone)
Printer
Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license
Pay and Hours This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate varying by county and volume. Although paid per inspection, you may earn the equivalent of $30‑$40 per hour.
Depending on the county and whether it is urban or rural, you will complete anywhere from 20 to 500 inspections per month working 2 to 30 hours per week. Lower volume counties have higher rates and higher volume counties have lower rates. There is no set amount of inspections per month, but work is consistent month‑to‑month.
Earn more as you become established, have greater availability, or cover a larger territory.
No additional mileage reimbursement above the flat fee per inspection.
