Position Summary
The Athletic Trainer provides medical care focused on the prevention, evaluation, management, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries for individuals of all ages. This role includes coverage of athletic events, concussion management, emergency care, occupational health responsibilities, and clinic support as a physician extender.
Schedules Available Full-Time:
80 hours per pay period, Monday-Friday, with evening coverage for events PRN:
As needed for additional coverage Weekend Rotation:
Occasional event coverage Holiday Rotation:
Occasional event coverage Key Responsibilities
Provide athletic event and after-school activity coverage at contracted high schools. Prevent, evaluate, diagnose, and manage athletic injuries. Develop and communicate treatment/rehabilitation plans with athletes, parents, and coaches. Conduct concussion evaluations, manage recovery progression, and determine return-to-play readiness. Document evaluations and treatments. Identify root causes of injuries and implement prevention strategies. Deliver occupational health/rehab services (POETs, desk assessments, FPNs). Perform functional progress assessments and job-specific conditioning programs. Work in the orthopedic clinic as a physician extender (histories, scheduling, patient education). Coordinate event coverage schedules. Other related duties as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology (required). Minimum
1 year
of related experience. Current
Wisconsin Athletic Trainer license . Board of Certification (BOC)
certification. Valid driver's license. BLS certification
(required). Strong accuracy, detail orientation, and interpersonal communication skills. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Proficiency in musculoskeletal and concussion evaluations. Knowledge of emergency care and occupational health. Intermediate to advanced computer skills. Self-starter with strong compassion, communication, and problem-solving skills.
