Job Summary Assistant to the Girls Lacrosse Coach responsible for coaching, athlete development, and program supervision. Reports to the Athletic Director and/or head coach.

Key Responsibilities
Reports consistently for scheduled work
Performs other duties as assigned
Attains proficient or higher evaluations on established Performance Standards
Actively seeks feedback from supervisors and/or colleagues
Communicates high expectations for athlete behavior and reinforces them
Communicates regularly with the Athletic Director
Consistently meets responsibilities in a timely manner regarding fiscal management
Consistently seeks professional growth and learning
Demonstrates solid knowledge of the sport, policies, rules, and game management strategies
Demonstrates effective understanding of athletes’ developmental levels and advances them accordingly
Demonstrates effective knowledge and compliance with governing body rules and regulations
Shows leadership that creates a positive and inclusive environment
Uses verbal and written communication skills across multiple modes, timely and professional
Builds positive stakeholder relationships
Builds and maintains a growth‑oriented program for individuals and teams
Creates a competitive environment giving all athletes success opportunities
Plans strategies and tactics to maximize success in competitions
Maintains, inventories, stores, and re‑orders equipment before the season begins
Evaluates assistant coach(es) where applicable
Follows clear communication procedures, especially proactive ones
Includes and values stakeholder input
Communicates with athletic trainer and parents regarding injuries, ensuring medical release before return to play
Plans daily, weekly, monthly, and annual character development of athletes
Produces detailed practice plans that advance individual skills and strategy development
Engages in appropriate professional learning activities
Submits roster, transportation requests, and certifications before deadlines
Supervises all facilities and athletes before, during, and after practices and competitions

Physical Demands
Regularly sits, stands, walks, stoops, kneels, squats, and performs physical tasks
Has adequate oral and auditory capacity for interaction and device use
Uses eye, hand, and finger coordination for equipment and writing
Lifts and carries up to 20 lb. (may be higher for some assignments)
May climb stairs, ladders, or stools, reach, hold, grasp, and turn objects, and operate computer keyboards
Cognitive Functions
Analyzes, communicates, compares, compiles, computes, coordinates, copies, evaluates, instructs, negotiates, synthesizes, reasons, and applies interpersonal skills
Required Qualifications
ASEP Certification – American Sport Education Program
CHSAA Certification – Colorado High School Activities Association
High school graduate – high school diploma or equivalent
NFHS Coaching Fundamentals Certification – National Federation of State High Schools
Preferred Qualifications
Colorado Department of Education Teacher License: Initial
Colorado Department of Education Teacher License: Professional
