Residential Maintenance Technician - Level III
Join Balfour Beatty Communities as a Residential Maintenance Technician – Level III. This role focuses on maintaining the physical condition of our residential communities while delivering world‑class service to residents. About the Role
The Maintenance Technician is integral to meeting our mission by diagnosing maintenance issues, making repairs, and ensuring all resident service requests and community maintenance are completed promptly. You may be eligible for a $500 net sign‑on bonus to be paid out in your first paycheck. What You’ll Be Doing
Oversee one or more assets and supervise general maintenance engineers and technicians. May have specific property maintenance responsibilities, including HVAC, mechanical, electrical, utilities, and lighting systems. Direct mechanics, technicians, and outside contractors on assigned projects, coordinating all maintenance‑related contractor activities. Control inventory of parts and equipment, ensuring supplies are available for repair and maintenance tasks. Ensure the successful execution of all company safety and environmental policies and procedures. Deliver the highest level of resident satisfaction through responsive, consistent, positive, and professional interactions. Work a rotating on‑call schedule to provide 24/7 maintenance coverage. Who We’re Looking For
Qualified candidates will have: High school diploma or GED. Minimum of 7 years of maintenance experience with no certifications or 4 years’ experience with EPA 608 Universal certification required. Designations, degrees, licenses, or certifications in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, or carpentry. Demonstrated strong customer‑service skills and advanced knowledge in at least one of the disciplines: electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry. Ability to diagnose problems and implement repairs, perform quality control on work, and provide guidance and training to less senior technicians. Strong written and verbal communication skills, time‑management skills, and a valid state‑issued driver’s license with a safe driving record. Completed required training for Maintenance Tech III within 15 months of hire or promotion. Typical Physical Demands
Regularly use hands to manipulate tools, machinery, equipment, supplies, and office equipment. Frequently stand, reach with hands and arms, climb ladders, balance, and stoop. Sit and stand to do clerical work. Regularly lift and move equipment and supplies up to 50–75 lbs. Typical Work Conditions
Work is performed in and outside a maintenance/machinery environment and in and outside residential properties. Employee frequently interacts directly with residents, maintenance, and community staff during the workday. Benefits
