CSI Group is seeking an experienced
Tax Reviewer & Preparer
to support our high-volume tax season from January through the end of April. This per diem role is critical to ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely preparation and review of both individual and small business tax returns—delivering an exceptional experience for the middle-class families and small businesses we serve.
About the Role In this hybrid role, you will prepare and review individual (1040) and small business returns, ensuring they meet IRS, state, and CSI Group quality standards. You will play a key role in both production and quality assurance, collaborating with advisors, preparers, and reviewers to help us deliver a best-in-class member experience during the busiest months of the year. Significant overtime is required and available throughout the peak of tax season.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare individual tax returns (1040) and related schedules
Prepare small business returns, including Schedule C and supporting documents
Perform detailed reviews of both individual and small business tax returns
Verify accuracy of calculations, documentation, and tax positions
Ensure compliance with IRS, state, and CSI Group standards
Identify discrepancies and provide clear, constructive feedback to preparers
Support Lead Advisors and Tax Preparers in resolving more complex tax matters
Maintain timely turnaround to meet tax-season production demands
Document all review notes and preparation details in Canopy, following internal workflows
Uphold our mission of simplifying financial security for America’s middle class
Qualifications
3+ years of experience preparing and/or reviewing individual and/or small business tax returns
Strong working knowledge of federal and state tax laws
Experience with ProConnect preferred (training provided if needed)
Highly detail-oriented with strong communication and documentation skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with advisors and preparers
CPA, EA, or significant 1040/Business tax preparation experience strongly preferred
