FAR INSPECTIONS
FAR Inspections is looking for highly motivated individuals to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders. Independent contractors earn predictable full-time or supplemental income and enjoy a flexible schedule. Experience with mortgage field inspections is not required; an ability to effectively manage time and meet deadlines is crucial. Based in Reno, NV, FAR Inspections has been in business for over 9 years.
What is an Occupancy Verification?
Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties. The purpose of the property inspection is to verify property occupancy and report on the general condition of the property using a mobile application. Most inspections are exterior only; about 10% require interior photos after the property has gone vacant.
Responsibilities
Complete most inspections within 5-6 minutes.
Submit the inspection within 4 days after assignment.
Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards.
Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
Complete a short form in an app.
Travel within the assigned county, spending extended periods driving with numerous stops during the day.
Requirements
Computer with an internet connection.
Reliable vehicle with good gas mileage (you will pay for your own gas).
Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
Printer.
Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license.
Pay and Hours
This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate. Rates vary based on county and volume. You will earn the equivalent of $30-$40 per hour. Depending on the county and whether it is urban or rural, you may complete anywhere from 20 to 500 inspections per month, working 2 to 30 hours per week. Lower volume counties have higher rates; higher volume counties have lower rates. The work is consistent month-to-month, and you can earn more as you become established, have greater availability to inspect, or cover a larger territory.
No additional mileage reimbursement above the flat fee per inspection.
