Supports the Mortgage Loan Consultant in soliciting quality loan applicants through various methods and media. Assists MLCs to gather information related to residential real estate applications through interaction with parties involved in the transaction, while adhering to customer privacy guidelines. Schedules appointments on behalf of the MLC, or with the AMLC, fit the needs of the bank and customer, whether on company premises or at a mutually convenient location. Provides customers with information on the institution’s loan programs, underwriting guidelines and applicable government regulations. Prepares and maintains applications and manages application documents. Prepares Loan Estimates in compliance with regulatory guidelines and bank policy. Answers incoming inquiries, written or otherwise, and satisfies those inquiries or consults with the Mortgage Loan Consultant. Maintains and fosters relationships with realtors, attorneys, appraisers, applicants, and Mortgage Processing personnel. May attend loan closings on behalf of the MLC. Processes final documentation and loan tickets to initiate the booking process. Participates in community outreach programs within the MLC’s designated territory to support low‑to‑moderate income groups and protected classes. Ensures exceptional customer service, both internal and external, by maintaining thorough knowledge of lending programs, policies, procedures and regulatory requirements, demonstrating professionalism and compliance with all federal and state policies. Performs other related duties as assigned or directed. Maintains proficient knowledge of, and demonstrates ongoing compliance with, all applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures, and meets all job‑specific requirements in a timely fashion. Qualifications
Education/Training:
Associate’s degree or equivalent preferred. This position requires National Mortgage Licensing System (“NMLS”) registration under the Safe Act. All applicants must be 18 years of age or older. Skills:
Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics; comfort with various software programs and PC functions; proficient interpersonal and communication skills; ability to multitask and manage multiple duties; and the ability to learn and maintain working knowledge of bank operating policies and products. Experience:
Previous banking and/or mortgage industry experience preferred; experience in a high‑volume, multi‑tasked professional administrative, sales, or customer service position; experience submitting loan file requests electronically (DU‑Desktop Underwriter) and knowledge of FNMA guidelines a plus.
