Applied Industrial Technologies is currently seeking an
Account Specialist
to join our team. In this role, you will plan, implement, and execute target industry marketing programs. You will also call on engineers, maintenance, purchasing, and others, using a consultative selling approach to learn about your customers' applications and needs.

Responsibilities:
Review and process requisitions daily.
Enter data into AIT’s and customers' systems to obtain quotes, issue purchase orders, and manage blanket purchase orders.
Evaluate and resolve part number changes; work with customers to approve changes before material receipt, and notify them of obsolete or discontinued items.
Identify duplicate stock codes or products.
Maintain lead times for items on the look ahead.
Collaborate with service centers to gather weekly backlog and overdue reports.
Expedite orders in coordination with service centers and customers.
Assist in product sourcing and pursue products within our scope.
Address specific issues related to notifications.
Work with warehouse personnel and service centers to resolve receiving issues.
Manage product warranty issues with the service center.
Track and document cost savings and value-added services provided to customers.
Position Requirements: The ideal candidate will have the following experience, traits, and skills:
Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, marketing, or related fields.
3 to 5 years of industry-related experience.
Proven ability to develop new business, build repeat business, and manage a sales territory.
Strong relationship-building skills at all organizational levels.
Experience with product demonstrations and mechanical aptitude.
Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.
Preferred:
Experience with Applied products such as bearings, power transmission components, fluid power, or industrial supplies.
Desired Characteristics:
Self-motivated and proactive in task completion.
