Lead Monday Night Karaoke Outings for Hostel Guests
Join Hostelling International USA (HI USA) as a volunteer to lead our mix of domestic and international hostel guests on a weekly Monday Night Karaoke Outing. The role involves meeting guests at our hostel in the Loop, walking them to a nearby karaoke bar to showcase Chicago’s local nightlife, and ensuring an engaging, culturally rich experience.
About the Volunteer Opportunity The HI USA PUB TOUR is designed to expose guests to new locations within our community and foster conversations with fellow travelers. As the Karaoke Outing volunteer, you will:
Guide guests through a scheduled outing and facilitate discussion about the local nightlife culture
Incorporate questions and activities that encourage guests to share history, culture, and personal perspectives
Ensure the program is fun and enlightening, giving guests a better understanding of the community
Schedule Monday nights: 7:30 PM – 10:30 PM or 8:00 PM – 11:00 PM. The position recurs weekly or bi‑weekly.
Requirements MUST BE A RESIDENT OF CHICAGO OR THE CHICAGO AREA.
