Position Title: Regional Chief Estimator - Heavy Civil

Location: Irvine, CA

Job Type: Full-Time | In-office

Pay Range: $200k - 250k

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a Regional Chief Estimator in Irvine, CA. This is a full-time in office position.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all aspects of Estimating process
  • Conduct thorough analysis of drawings and specifications, ensuring required information is provided.
  • Perform detailed project cost estimate using estimating software such as HCSS.
  • Research selected products from a cost and construct ability perspective.
  • Solicit sub-contractor pricing and bids for different trades in preparation of cost estimate.
  • Review progress and construction documents for construct ability. Lead and participate in discussion regarding alternate detail and materials for specific areas or trades.
  • Provide and present value engineering options and costs.
  • Provide and present estimating productions and scheduling.
  • Coordinate administrative staff in sending documents to vendors.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • College degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Minimum 10+ years’ heavy civil estimating experience
  • Substantial construction experience and / or engineering background
  • Have a thorough understanding of construction means and methods.
  • Local knowledge of the industry.Must be fluent in English – written and oral.

Skills

  • Highly proficient in selected software (Excel, Word, Outlook) HCSS Heavy Bid estimating software and P6 a plus.
  • Ability to make decisions, work independently and coordinate estimating colleagues.
  • Ability to meet critical project deadlines, willingness to coordinate and work as a team member.
