Customs Entry Writer – OEC Group
Join OEC Group as a Customs Entry Writer in our New York office. This role supports the company’s import brokerage functions by accurately preparing and filing customs entries for all inbound shipments.
Work Schedule
New York Office 9:00 am – 6:00 pm EST with rotational overtime on Sundays.
Computer Skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Responsibilities
Prepares customs entries for all import shipments to be submitted to and released from U.S. Customs in a timely manner.
Ensures all entries are properly classified using tools such as company profiles, CROSS (Customs Rulings Online Search System), Internet searches, and communication with the Importer of Record.
Creates invoices for duty and entry charges to be sent to the Billing Department.
Develops and maintains customer profiles based on the customer’s shipment history.
Coordinates with customers to classify new commodities per HTS.
Answers any brokerage related inquiries internally and externally.
Qualifications
Entry writer with 3‑5 years of entry writing experience and familiarity with U.S. Customs regulations.
Experience dealing with a high volume of data entry.
Experience with Cargowise is a plus.
Associate’s degree preferred.
Compensation
$55 000 – $65 000 annually based on education and experience level.
