Position Summary:
As a Radiologic Technologist II, and under the guidance of a Workflow Coordinator or Manager, you will perform radiographic procedures requiring independent judgment and in-depth knowledge of anatomy, positioning, and radiologic equipment. You will take responsibility for specific areas or procedures as necessary.
Competencies:
Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing English; bilingual abilities in Spanish are a plus.
Advanced math skills in physics to accurately set radiologic exposure levels.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform all routine radiographic procedures following department standards, protocols, and regulatory requirements.
Conduct fluoroscopic exams and various studies efficiently, including ERCPs and portable X-ray procedures.
Provide excellent clinical care to patients during diagnostic processes.
Critically assess and ensure image quality through careful review.
Maintain accuracy in computer documentation.
Mentor clinical students in ethical practices of the Radiologic Technologist profession.
Manage stock levels and personal protective equipment effectively.
Adhere to infection control standards consistently.
Collaborate as a reliable team member to fulfill tasks.
Complete miscellaneous duties as required.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High School diploma or GED equivalent.
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification and a Connecticut State License are required or to be obtained within three months of graduation.
Continuous education units (CEUs) are necessary to retain licensure.
Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support required upon hire, with ongoing competency during employment.
Experience:
Expertise in at least two modalities is essential.
Solid understanding of physics, anatomy, medical terminology, sterile techniques, and radiation protection in Radiology.
Annual completion of ECHN's mandatory education programs is required.
