Responsibilities

Provide law enforcement services to safeguard employees, the public, property, facilities, and grounds. Patrol buildings and areas on foot or by vehicle, investigate accidents, respond to calls for assistance, and assess the nature of reported emergencies. Exercise the full duties of a sworn police officer by enforcing applicable laws, rules, and regulations through warnings, citations, and arrests. Direct traffic at public events and accident scenes, operate patrol vehicles and communications systems, administer first aid when other emergency personnel are unavailable, and participate in ongoing training to maintain required essential job knowledge and skills. Work Schedule and Additional Information

Full-time employment, 40 hours per week. Work hours are 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Rotating 12-hour shifts with rotating days off. Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Successful completion of the Municipal Police Officers’ Education and Training Commission Certified Basic Police Academy (Act 120) training. Special Requirements:

You must be in possession of a valid Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C driver’s license or equivalent. Other Requirements:

You must pass a physical ability test based on the Municipal Police Officers Education and Training Commission physical fitness assessment standards. You must meet the PA residency requirement. You must possess a valid federal or state-issued photo ID and pass a favorable NCIC screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap. You must maintain an Automated Installation Entry (AIE) card once issued. You must obtain an active Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistance Network (CLEAN) certification issued by the Pennsylvania State Police within the probationary period and maintain it for the duration of employment. You must be able to perform essential job functions. Legal Requirements

Pass a background investigation. A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening. This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI fingerprint clearance.
