JOB SUMMARY The Store Associate supports current and future store goals by adhering to all procedures outlined in Gate’s Operations Division. The role involves everyday store operations, including food service, training on programs, monitoring progress, and ensuring all employees uphold Gate standards.
REQUIREMENTS
Legal age to sell alcohol and tobacco products.
Successfully complete a pre‑employment drug screening and background check.
Work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
Speak, read, write, and comprehend English at a sufficient level to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills.
Stand for extended periods; lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds; perform repetitive movements over long periods; bend, kneel, stoop, and reach (including overhead).
Work in varying and extreme temperatures.
Basic reading, writing, and math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
Operate a personal computer.
Understand and comply with policies regarding robberies and safe handling of petroleum products.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Follow a flexible schedule and Gate’s attendance policy.
Arrive on time, properly dressed per Gate uniform standards.
Maintain personal appearance; hair must meet Gate standards.
Attend mandatory training, safety courses, office and departmental meetings.
Report safety hazards, ensure hazards are corrected, and aid in maintaining a safe work environment.
Abide by federal, state, local, and company regulations.
Use organizational skills to maintain a clean, well‑stocked store.
Perform minor repair and maintenance of store equipment.
Operate all equipment (cash register, money order machine, electronic lottery, Tach II safes, credit card machines, gasoline console, emergency gasoline shutoff valve).
Handle all payments according to Gate policies.
Prioritize Gate customers, ensuring a friendly and efficient checkout experience.
Assist customers with product or service questions, address inquiries, resolve complaints.
Contribute to a positive team environment and communicate accurately and positively with colleagues.
Apply problem solving and de‑escalation skills.
Perform store merchandising: stocking shelves, pricing, blocking front shelves, displaying window banners, in‑store P.O.S., ensuring product codes are correct.
Execute any additional duties assigned by the Store Manager.
