Role: Specimen Technician Location:
Tampa, FL 33617 Shift Schedule:
Monday - Friday 1:00 AM – 9:30 AM (3rd Shift)
Hours per Week:
40 hours Start Date:

Pay Highlights:
$17-19.75/hour (Based on years of experience)
Key Responsibilities: Specimen Processing & Laboratory Support Perform specimen processing functions including
A-station ,
presort ,
pickup and delivery of specimens ,
imaging/microfilming ,
centrifugation , and
aliquoting Accurately handle and process specimens according to established procedures and compliance requirements Identify and understand specimen types related to ordered tests Maintain productivity and quality standards within departmental completion timelines
Data Entry & Compliance Perform high-volume data entry with accuracy ( minimum 6,000 alphanumeric keystrokes per hour ) Learn and apply compliance regulations related to test ordering, which may change frequently Ensure proper documentation and adherence to quality control procedures
Work Environment & Professional Conduct Work in a
biohazard environment
while following all safety protocols and PPE requirements Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Communicate effectively with staff at all levels Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a rapidly changing production setting
Qualifications: Education:
High School Diploma or GED required. Experience Preferred: No prior experience required—training provided. Preferred: Previous laboratory or production environment experience Medical background or knowledge of medical terminology Prior hospital laboratory or specimen processing experience Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred
