Reports to: Manager, Residential Programs.
Program Overview Womankind’s two emergency residences provide refuge, recovery, and renewal for survivors of domestic and sexual violence. Our services are rooted in a survivor‑centered, trauma‑informed, culturally congruent, and evidence‑informed model called MAP (Moving Ahead Positively). Activities include holistic wellness practices such as acupuncture, trauma‑sensitive yoga, Qi Gong, and meditation. Additional supports include therapeutic art‑based programs, housing, employment, and legal immigration services. While we primarily serve women and children, we also provide services to survivors of all gender identities.
Responsibilities
This is a full‑time position. Shifts include two‑day (9 a.m.–5 p.m.) and three late (1 p.m.–9 p.m.) weekdays from Monday to Friday.
Manage a caseload of 5–9 clients within the Residential Programs, providing counseling, case management, and accompaniment for clients’ legal, immigration, entitlement, and housing needs.
Maintain proper documentation of case work and organization of case files.
Support the well‑being and advancement of families through structured activities and collaboration with children’s programming.
Facilitate support groups based on the needs of the house.
Perform maintenance tasks as needed (e.g., room preparation and light cleaning).
Ensure the residence is appropriately staffed according to regulations, remaining on call for extra shifts in emergencies.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Fluent in English and one of Spanish, Mandarin, or Cantonese.
Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field required, or two years’ equivalent experience. Master’s degree preferred.
Demonstrated interest or experience in domestic/sexual violence work or humanitarian work.
Experience in a residential or high‑paced environment preferred.
Ability to work independently, highly motivated, and possess multitasking skills.
Strong computer skills required.
Vocational, counseling, or crisis management experience is a plus.
Knowledge of CPR/First Aid and fire safety is a plus.
Compensation Package Annual salary range: $50,000 – $52,000. Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance; generous paid time off; a 403(b) retirement plan; and more.
