Director

Product Portfolio team

in Lakeville, MN.

The Director of Product Portfolio plays a key leadership role at HHT by driving the execution of fireplace product strategies, maintaining a comprehensive roadmap, collaborating cross-functionally to shape future growth, and proactively anticipating market and industry trends to ensure competitive advantage and achieve both short- and long-term company goals.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement effective Go-to-Market strategies aligned with company goals

Create and maintain a comprehensive product roadmap supporting strategic objectives

Manage the product portfolio to balance short-term results and long-term sustainable growth

Identify and mitigate market, financial, and operational risks linked to the portfolio

Communicate portfolio performance and strategies clearly to executives and key stakeholders

Lead and develop product marketing managers supporting the portfolio

Conduct market research with the Market Insights team to understand trends, competition, and customer needs

Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure successful product development, launch, and lifecycle management

Provide thought leadership on market penetration, M&A opportunities, and external partnerships

Handle product feedback management You Talk, We Listen (YTWL), participate in process improvements, and travel up to 35% as required.

Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience

10 or more years of progressive responsibility in management

Proven experience attracting, developing and retaining great talent; successful track record of managing, building, and scaling highly effective and diverse teams

Experience with project management tools and methodologies

Experience developing go-to-market strategies and new product commercialization

Budget planning and management experience

Consumer goods, home, or building products industry experience

Preferred Qualifications

Industry Experience & Consumer Focus: Hearth industry experience with a deep understanding of consumer and builder needs, enabling clear and effective product solutions.

Strategic & Portfolio Management: Comprehensive knowledge of business strategy creation and implementation, portfolio management practices adapted to the Hearth business, and the ability to develop actionable strategic marketing plans balancing short- and long-term goals.

Leadership & Change Management: Proven ability to lead and develop teams effectively, resolve conflicts, act as a change leader during organizational shifts, and influence cross-functionally to drive success without direct authority.

Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of market dynamics and financial impacts of product portfolio decisions, supporting sound investment and budget management choices.

Communication: Effective communication skills tailored for internal stakeholders and external audiences, including consumers and builders.
