FlavaWorks is seeking a Part-Time Intellectual Property Litigation Staff Attorney to serve as the company’s primary legal resource for copyright and IP litigation matters. This role is well-suited for a junior to mid-level attorney seeking meaningful federal litigation experience with a flexible, part-time schedule and the opportunity to grow with the company.
The attorney will manage copyright and intellectual property cases filed in federal court, including matters before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
Responsibilities
Drafting, filing, and managing copyright and intellectual property lawsuits
Preparing pleadings, motions, discovery, and other court filings
Appearing at court hearings and proceedings as required
Managing cases through settlement or other resolution
Advising on copyright enforcement strategy and litigation planning This position may be performed on a hybrid or remote basis, with optional access to the company’s Chicago office. Court appearances in Chicago are required when applicable.
Compensation includes
hourly rate plus contingency
participation tied to successful settlements or judgments.
Job Requirements
Juris Doctor (J.D.) and active Illinois Bar admission in good standing required.
Admission to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois required.
Experience in copyright, trademark, intellectual property, or related litigation.
Ability to independently manage federal court filings, deadlines, and court appearances.
Working knowledge of copyright and trademark law, including the Copyright Act and the Lanham Act.
Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills, with the ability to draft pleadings, motions, and discovery.
Comfortable serving as the company’s primary legal resource for copyright, trademark, and IP litigation matters.
Ability to work effectively in a part-time, hybrid or remote environment with minimal supervision.
Availability to attend required court hearings in Chicago.
