STL Auditions is hiring: Seeking Cast & Crew For An Absurd, But Heartfelt Two-Pa

Hello! This is the first cast and crew call for an upcoming student short film production, being filmed in two parts over the course of 2026. I am a graduate film student here in the St. Louis area. I have recently completed a new script, and this is a story which I am truly excited about telling. So excited, that I have decided to dedicate the entirety of 2026 to making it a reality. This R-rated, two-part film will tell the tale of two drug-fueled best friends, and the different ways we deal with grief when tragedy strikes. I am beginning this process early, so details are subject to refinement and change, but I wanted to get ahead of the game, gauge the talent out there, and start 2026 strong with pre-production. With that being said, here’s the current plan: Due to student production limitations, as well as legitimate story reasons, this production will be split into two parts. Part I will film in the latter half of March, and will be screened on its own in May. Part II will likely film in the latter half of September, and will be screened in December. Each production will be limited to 3 days: a 3-day production in the Spring, and a 3-day production in the Fall. For now, I will focusing on casting and crewing Part I, however, three members of the cast will be required to return in the Fall for Part II, so those roles will have to be taken by someone who plans to stick around this year. I am in need of 4 cast members for Part I. Character details are included below, so use your best judgment as to what you feel you fit best. Blue – 22-year-old young woman. Unbrushed, faded hair. Grungy, but soft. (required to return for Part II) Miguel – 27-year-old young man. Hispanic. Messy hair, unkempt beard. Eccentric stoner. (Part I only) Andi – 23-year old young woman. Hard-nosed, outspoken. (required to return for Part II) Effie – 19-year-old young woman. Andi’s ambivalent stoner girlfriend.
