*Work with Progression, Inc. get your application bumped to the front of the line* Tax Preparer Chesapeake, VA Pay From $20 MUST: Experienced Tax Preparer 3+ Years experience preparing Form 1040 individual tax returns 3+ Years experience with Schedule C 3+ Years experience with Schedule E Working knowledge of federal and state individual tax filings Experience using professional tax preparation software Strong attention to detail and ability to meet filing deadlines Experience in a public accounting or tax firm environment Multi-state tax return experience Familiarity with depreciation, rental property taxation, and pass-through income DUTIES: Prepare and review individual federal and state tax returns (Form 1040) Prepare Schedule C returns for self-employed individuals and small businesses Prepare Schedule E returns for rental properties and pass-through income Collect, organize, and analyze client financial documentation Identify deductions, credits, and compliance-based tax-saving opportunities Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all tax filings Communicate with clients to resolve discrepancies and obtain missing information Stay current on IRS regulations and tax law changes Assist with extensions, amended returns, and basic tax planning Support responses to IRS notices and audits as needed *Progression Inc. is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer.
