About the Role
The Greater Sedona Chamber of Commerce is seeking a creative, reliable, and locally‑grounded part‑time Social Media Manager to help tell Sedona’s story across our social media platforms that have garnered 342k followers. Our priorities are supporting local businesses, promoting community events, and showcasing the experiences that make the Verde Valley unique. This hybrid role is ideal for someone who understands Sedona’s character, has a strong visual eye, and can balance tourism promotion with community‑focused messaging. The position is hybrid, with flexibility for remote work and in‑market content capture.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, create, and schedule engaging content across Visit Sedona & Sedona Chamber social media channels (primarily Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn)
Capture and curate high‑quality photo and short‑form video content highlighting Sedona businesses,, landscapes, and experiences
Support Visit Sedona tourism campaigns, Chamber initiatives, and signature events through coordinated social content
Collaborate with Chamber staff, partners, and local businesses to source content and align messaging
Write compelling captions that balance inspiration, information, and calls to action
Monitor comments and messages, ensuring timely and professional responses
Track basic performance metrics (reach, engagement, follower growth) and provide simple monthly summaries
Maintain an organized content calendar aligned with seasonal tourism priorities and Chamber programming
Preferred Qualifications
Strong written communication skills and an eye for brand consistency
Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and coordinate with a small, fast‑moving team
Familiarity with Sedona and the Verde Valley, including local businesses, events, and seasonal rhythms
Experience with photography and/or videography, including shooting and basic editing for social platforms
Experience in tourism, destination marketing, hospitality, or destination management
Strong understanding of Instagram and Facebook best practices; familiarity with short‑form video trends (Reels, Stories)
Schedule
Hybrid role with flexible scheduling; some in‑person availability required for content capture, events, and meetings
Occasional evenings or weekends may be needed for events or seasonal campaigns
