Our client, a leading healthcare organization, is seeking a Verification of Benefits Specialist to join their team. As a Verification of Benefits Specialist, you will be part of the Medical Support Department supporting the Benefits Verification team. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, organizational abilities, and a team-oriented mindset which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title Verification of Benefits Specialist
Location Plano, TX
Pay Range $22/hr on w2
What's the Job?
Verify insurance benefits for patients across multiple carriers including private insurance, Workers Compensation, and Medicare.
Utilize portals and verification tools to confirm patient coverage and benefits.
Maintain accurate records of benefit information and communicate findings effectively to team members and patients.
Ensure timely processing of benefit verification requests to meet organizational deadlines.
Collaborate with physicians and administrative staff to support billing and authorization processes.
What's Needed?
High school diploma required; AA degree is a plus.
Minimum of 2+ years experience in a utilization review environment or similar work experience.
Knowledge of private insurance, Workers Compensation, and Medicare guidelines related to utilization review.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word & Excel); experience with medical billing software is a plus.
Strong understanding of CPT codes, ICD‑10CM diagnosis coding, and benefit verification processes.
