Position Summary:
Via Credit Union is seeking a Business Lending Credit Analyst (In-office) working Tuesday - Saturday (noon). The Credit Analyst is responsible for evaluating the creditworthiness of current and prospective member business and commercial borrowers. This role ensures sound lending decisions by analyzing financial data, assessing risk, and supporting the business lending team. The Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring loans are both profitable and aligned with the credit union's standards. Collaborates closely with the VP of Business Lending, the Chief Lending Officer, and other key members of the credit union.

Overview: The scheduled work week is Tuesday - Saturday (noon), unless otherwise specified, working Tuesday - Thursday 8:15 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Friday 8:15 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., and Saturday 8:15 a.m. - noon.

Essential Functions:
Analyze credit information and financial statements to assess profitability and income trends, to present to Chief Lending Officer or Business Lending Committee.
Perform cash flow analysis and calculate financial ratios using computer programs, to determine the advisability of granting credit.
Compare liquidity, profitability, and credit histories of individual or businesses with similar establishments to determine risk.
Apply Via Credit Union Business Lending & Participation Policies throughout the credit underwriting/evaluating process.
Prepare loan credit memorandums for new loans, renewals, and periodic reviews; including credit analyses and summaries of loan requests for decision making.
Complete Participation reviews and risk analysis to present to Business Lending Committee.
Assist supervisor in providing and maintaining financial reporting requirements on members’ credit obligations.
Monitor recorded mortgage and final title policies, track lien perfection on equipment loans.
Monitor insurance cancellations and renewals, working with members and insurance agencies to obtain renewal policies.
Request, complete, and follow up on outstanding Periodic Loan Reviews and present findings to the Business Loan Committee.
Prepare month end reports for presentation to Board of Directors.
Provide informed, professional, and accurate service and support to all members and team members.
Maintain a professional work environment and professional appearance.
Perform other business lending duties as assigned.
Serves as back up for the Business Lending Loan Processor as needed:
Order Appraisals (via bidding process or AVM), order flood determinations, environmental search, title commitment, and other third‑party providers as necessary for loan requests.
Prepare loan documents for loan closing, working with title companies and other third‑party providers to ensure a smooth loan closing.
Fund loan in the credit union’s loan operating system, create tracking records, index loan documents to members’ account.
File loan documents with county recorder’s office, BMV, and/or file UCCs with Secretary of State office as necessary to perfect lien.

Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree from a four‑year college or university is preferred, with preference in Accounting or Finance or related field; equivalent professional experience will be considered.
Experience:
3‑5 years experience with credit analysis, analysis software, and/or accounting software
Experience in public relations preferred.
Computer Skills:
Excellent computer skills with programs such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.), analysis software, and/or accounting software.
