RN - Outpatient Beacon Behavioral Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Outpatient position.

Qualifications

Must have Registered Nurse Licensure in the state of operation.

Bachelor’s, Associate degree or diploma in nursing with documented evidence of an educational program focused on treating psychiatric patients.

At least 2 years of nursing experience, with 1 year providing nursing care to the mentally ill, or receive regular documented supervision/consultation from a Master’s-prepared psychiatric nurse.

Certification in Basic Life Support required.

Certification in non-violent crisis intervention.

Specific Responsibilities And Duties

Function as the Charge RN for the assigned shift, responsible for providing the nursing care delivery system and supervising clinical programming.

Supervise LPNs, CNAs, and/or Mental Health Technicians during the shift.

Implement a high-quality treatment program and oversee overall hospital management and supervision of nursing and clinical staff.

Act as liaison between program staff and medical staff, assisting the Director of Nursing (DON).

Assist the DON with budget compliance and staffing guidelines.

Contribute to nursing Performance Improvement initiatives.

Participate in the development and implementation of the Plan of Care with the multidisciplinary treatment team.

Facilitate appropriate nursing actions in response to administrative directives and changing healthcare environments.

Delegate assignments to Certified Nursing Assistants and Mental Health Technicians; assist the Director of Nursing with annual performance evaluations.

Participate in QAPI plans, infection control initiatives, risk management, and clinical chart audits.

Perform other duties and special projects as required.

Facilitate and document Admission Assessment for new patients during the shift.

Administer nursing care as ordered by the physician.

Facilitate nursing psycho-education groups as needed.

Provide individual patient education as ordered by the physician.

Ensure timely and accurate clinical documentation for all nursing services delivered.

Manage medication administration, monitoring, and storage.

Perform a physical nursing evaluation on every patient during the shift.

Attend treatment team meetings and provide nursing input into patient treatment planning.

Update and maintain multidisciplinary treatment plans.

Coordinate with ancillary support services: Dietary, Laboratory, Radiology, Pharmacy, Psychological Services, etc.

Administer respiratory care as ordered by MD.

Obtain necessary resources for patient care (e.g., emergency medical treatment, transfers, medications).

Communicate to the physician about medical complications beyond the scope of hospital services.

Administer medication and ensure all MD orders are followed and documented during the shift.
